Since President Donald Trump was elected, the Left has engaged in a non-stop tirade against his very existence. Their angst is so pronounced that it even has acquired a name, “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
We are on the cusp of the 2018 mid-term elections in America. In addition to that, it is the unofficial half-way point of President Trump’s first term.
Therefore, it is prudent to examine the TDS infected ‘loony Left,’ as they continue to ramp up their own rhetoric. I have assembled the top 5 looniest claims about the president from the loonier than ever Left.
5. Trump Causes Hurricanes
This is a fairly recent claim which stretches the bounds of sanity. For anyone not a committed raging Trump-hater that is.
This past September 2018 marked the advent of Hurricane Florence striking the American southern Atlantic coast. According to the Washington Post, President Trump helped cause it.
The editorial board of the Washington Post has gone much further than most. They are blaming the President for causing the hurricane. They claim President Trump is “complicit” for Hurricane Florence because of his views on climate change…. The Post published a column on Wednesday headlined, “Another hurricane is about to batter our coast. Trump is complicit.”
“When it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit. He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters,” the editorial board wrote.
So now Trump can cause natural disasters? Someone needs a reality check because theirs has bounced.
It is difficult to respond in a sane manner to such nonsensical chatter. Speaking of insane claims, number four smacks of schizophrenia.
4. Trump Is an Idiot and a Malevolent Mastermind
There is often an unsteady personality behind a divided mind. The politicians and Leftmedia who oppose Trump demonstrate such a divided mind frequently.
A prominent example of such are the competing claims that Trump is both some kind of insane idiot, while at the same time being an evil genius.
CNN is a fine representative of this phenomenon. They call Trump a moron one moment, as in their gleeful agreement with alleged comments by Rex Tillerson. Another moment and they nod their heads to a Michael Moore assessment that Trump is really an evil genius.
It is lunacy to hold both these beliefs, especially when one is trying to convince any rational person to believe them.
3. Trump Isn’t Responsible for the Booming Economy
Economic news couldn’t be better since President Trump took the reins. Real and substantial economic growth across the board can’t be denied, and his tax cuts, as well as deregulation, have fueled the boom.
I have written about the spectacular benefits of what is rightly called the ‘Trump economy.’ The basic thrust of the claim is that this newly robust economy has little or nothing to do with anything President Trump has done.
Instead, former President Obama took to the microphone recently and declared that he was the inducement for the present bounty!
“By the time I left office wages were rising … poverty was falling and that’s what I handed off to the next guy,” Obama declared at a campaign rally Monday. “So when you hear all this talk about economic miracles right now. Remember who started it. Remember who started it! C’mon!”
Do tell! Obama sounded quite a different note during the 2016 campaign. He said that there would be no ‘magic wand’ miracles for the economy period.
Obama was wrong, the jobs have come back. So, is he now trying to say that he was right about being wrong before? Loony tunes anyone?
2. Trump Is Racist
A sign of instability of mind is a sudden change in behavior for no real reason. That is precisely what is seen in the actions of the Left toward President Trump.
Prior to Trump’s candidacy for president, no one ever accused him of being racist. Once it became clear he would be the GOP nominee, Trump instantly became “racist” in the eyes of the Left.
The accusation of racism began based on comments the president made while campaigning about illegal immigration and building the border wall. The media conveniently ignored the fact that Trump was exclusively referencing illegals coming from Mexico.
However, the Left has stayed on this loony course after the election. It has become their go-to phrase for criticizing Trump, no matter the subject.
In fact, the ‘racist’ critique is a cornerstone in bashing Trump’s opposition to the so-called ‘migrant caravan,’ making its way to America’s southern border.
The Left’s insanity here extends blindness to the real racist comments from their own. Recently this was demonstrated by Hillary Clinton, as reported by Sheriff David Clarke.
Recently when a moderator mixed up a question about former Attorney General Eric Holder (she said US Senator Cory Booker), Clinton blurted out, “I know, they all look alike.” Do we really, now? I don’t look anything like Barack Obama, Eric Holder, Al Sharpton or a host of other black Americans.
This mistaken notion of racism toward Trump is from the Left’s own redefinition of racism. CNN’s Don Lemon doubled-down on a comment from this past week pinning the great terror threat to “white males,” and attempting to justify it with misdirected statistics.
Once again, Sheriff Clarke dismantles Lemon’s comments in his piece,
There is no way to couch that as taken out of context, wisecracking, hyperbole or metaphorically speaking. It is a raw, unadulterated, unmitigated, racist statement. Imagine President Trump saying that “black males are the biggest threat to safety in neighborhoods.” The outrage from the left would be tremendous even though there is empirical research and statistical data that shows, “the No. 1 cause of preventable death for young black men is homicide, usually committed by another black man.”
1. Trump Is Anti-Semitic
This is the latest and greatest of the loony Left’s insanity. The terrible shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pennsylvania last Saturday triggered the Leftmedia to blame President Trump.
A lunatic is someone who cannot be relied upon to live in reality. This is number one on the list of reality-denying rants made by leftist lunatics.
If The Washington Post writer and, evidently, Powers, are to be believed, Trump has some kind of anti-Semitic, murder-inducing rhetoric going on. And he shared in the blame for the deaths at the synagogue.
Bear in mind that Trump’s daughter and son-in-law are Jewish. Beyond that, he has been easily the most pro-Israel president since at least Ronald Reagan.
The pre-eminent feat demonstrating Trump’s favor toward Israel was the historic official recognition of Jerusalem as its capital. He sealed that recognition by moving the American embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem last May.
Contrast the WaPo statement to this from Israel’s Prime Minister when the new embassy location in Jerusalem opened.
“What a glorious day. Remember this moment!” Netanyahu entreated the applauding crowd. “President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history. All of us are deeply moved. All of us are deeply grateful.”
It is a strange anti-semite who grants the Jewish homeland one of its most cherished wishes. It is also loony to allow unstable emotion to overrule reason, but the Left has become adept at just that.
There are my top five loony claims from the loony Left about President Trump. Do you have some to share? Let me know in the comments section.
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 2 Peter 3:17 [ESV]
